Mercy College International Undergraduate Pathway

The Mercy College International Undergraduate Pathway is an international year one program of academic and English Language study laying the groundwork for future success at Mercy College.

Undergraduate Pathway Program

In the first year as a Freshman – and before joining the second year as a Sophomore – pathway students at Mercy College International boost their English Language skills and take general education courses. You will have the flexibility to make the final decision about what majors you wish to study in your chosen degree program once you have completed the first year of your pathway program.

English Language Requirements

MCI Graduate Pathway (3 semester) IELTS 4.5 with no less than 4.0 in each component
MCI Graduate Pathway (2 semester) IELTS 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in each component
MCI Graduate Pathway (2 semester) IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component

Your first year of study

During your first year of study you will have a combination of general education credit courses alongside English language classes. Once you have successfully completed your first year by earning 24 credits and completing English Language requirements, you can progress onto the degree of your choice.

Semester 3 (earn 12 credits)

Written English and Literary Studies II AND Oral Communication AND Critical Enquiry

Pre-Calculus OR Foundations of Computing I OR Introduction to Statistical Reasoning.

15 hours of English Language Support – EAP Advanced English for Academic Purposes, Immersive Student Experience, Student Success Strategies, Academic Support

able to move into the degree of your choice.

Supporting you onto your degree

Your choice of degree

Students are able to choose from a range of degree subjects and concentrations which are available on the three Mercy College campus locations. We have outlined each school so you can see what opportunities await you and specialist facilities to enhance your learning.

Staff support

Our friendly staff will support and guide you with choosing your specialised degree at the end of year 1. They will be on hand to help with questions and ensure you are on the right path for your future at Mercy College.

Available Subjects

Liberal Arts

Following your international first year you can then choose to move onto The School of Liberal Arts at Mercy College, students into academic areas such as History and English, and in more applied fields such as Cybersecurity and Music Production and Recording Arts.

Following your international first year you can then choose to move onto The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College, here you can develop the skills to develop a career as a science specialist, health care provider, health promotion expert and science/health educator.

Health and Behavioural Sciences

The School of Liberal Arts at Mercy College teaches students how to think critically and creatively as the foundation for lifelong learning. Mercy College offer programs in academic areas such as Criminal Justice and Legal Studies as well as areas in Sociology and Psychology.
