Subject Specific Modules

Undergraduate Progression Project

The module brings together the skills and subject knowledge that students have developed during the programme and provides the experience of applying this to a project which the students will select and manage.

Students will learn about the process of developing a small-scale research project and will get the opportunity to think about the advantages and disadvantages of some of the most commonly used research tools by experimenting with them and looking at how others have used them. The project that is produced will demonstrate the application of both subject knowledge and the skills that have gained across the programme and provides students with the experience and confidence to know that they will be able to carry out this type of work later on in their undergraduate studies.

Applied Life Sciences

This module aims to develop the students’ knowledge and understanding of key topics in Biology and Chemistry, building on modules studied earlier in the programme. There are further opportunities to work on practical skills. An additional focus is on applied areas, considering the role and responsibilities of science to and within society.
